Who says there's no such thing as balancing of luxury and basic? Well, in fashion there are no right or wrong. We use feelings and different perspectives to express and communicate with others. So now, Valentino and the big market player in basics-Gap presents a series of revolutionary ideas for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

Valentino and Gap synthesise the current trend of combining luxury with basics. We wanted to mix traditionally high-end elements with Gap's celebrated street style, to create couture looks with a contemporary attitude.' explained Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, creative directors of Valentino.

I was quite amazed by this collaboration as I could not imagine how the collection will turn out to be until I saw those outfits. Most of us would actually relate Valentino to haute couture, satin dresses, gowns and Gap as basic jeans and shirts. So basically, both are of two different world. Hmm, Who cares right? You'll never know unless you give it a shot! Well, I'm captivated by the ruffles as it displays a sense of femininity in denim. Ruffles gives volume to our outfit, especially for petite and slim ladies. I want to own a pair of ruffle pants too!.. XXX
